Hi I am Abby and I am 8 years old and love to swim. When I am not swimming I like to play with my friends, read, and hang-out with my sister. My best swimming memory ? was realizing swimming can be fun! I used to be afraid to put my head under water, now I am on a swim team!?My favorite strokes are free style and breast stroke. Swimming has given me a new sense of confidence and control. I love the teachers at Charlotte Aquatics. One of my favorite memories at Charlotte Aquatics was participating in an Olympic Competition against another class and I was the winner! I got to stand on the podium and receive a gold medal. My mom is going to display all of the patches I worked so hard for at Charlotte Aquatics in a frame so I can put it in my room.
Alexandria has been attending Charlotte Aquatics for 4+ years and swimming has been a part of her entire life.? From trips to the ocean to amusement park adventures to summers on the lake, she spends much of her time in or near water.? Alex was enrolled in swimming in an effort to ensure she understood water safety but it has turned into so much more.? She enjoys playing in the water and knowing that she has the freedom to learn and participate in any water activity she sets her heart on.? Swimming has given her confidence, strength and independence and will continue to open doors for fun and enjoyment for many years to come!
Our special thanks goes to Ms. Gigi who has taught and encouraged Alex throughout her time at Charlotte Aquatics.? There were several sessions where Alex’s attendance depended upon her getting into Gigi’s class (this was with Alex’s insistence, not ours).? Gigi provided the right balance of encouragement, support and tough love that helped Alex develop from a timid splasher to a confident swimmer.
My name is Aliya Ling and I am 6 years old. When I am not swimming I usually play, read, play piano or do my homework. I love swimming. It taught me that if I work hard, I will be rewarded for my hard work. I don?t have one favorite stroke ? I love them all! Some of my best memories at Charlotte Aquatics is riding on Mr. Mike?s back (he is so funny and made swimming class fun!), swimming on the rope into the pool, and riding on the giant duck.? I have worked hard to earn all of my patches and I have them in a folder neatly with my certificates. I love all my teachers. They are very patient, kind and professional.
Parents? quote about Aliya?s lessons and experience:??My daughter has learned so much from the swimming class in Charlotte Aquatics. Mr. Mike always tries to have fun and make us laugh and Ms. Mary is so sweet. I really like every time Mr. Mike slaps his hand on the water and says ?Ow?. He?s so funny!?
Robyn?s mom says, ?When Robyn started swimming, our goal was just to make sure she was safe in the water and wouldn?t drown if she fell in.? We moved up from Florida and were used to spending our play time in and around the water, so we knew it was a skill she needed.? But as she progressed in classes, she not only grew more comfortable in the water, but more self-confident as well.? Mastering a stroke she just couldn?t figure out before, being able to do a flip turn the first time, and even going into the locker room to get dressed by herself as she grew older helped build her confidence in other things.? We have been happy with every teacher she?s had ? they are all wonderful. Thanks you to the entire Charlotte Aquatics staff for helping our little girl learn to shine!?
