Congratulations to the following champion students. These eleven students have set a goal, worked hard, and persevered to attain the highest level of swimming achievement at Charlotte Aquatics!?
Hi, my name is Kayin Belizaire and I am an 8 year old third grader at Gaston Day School. When I am not swimming I am playing, watching football, practicing martial arts, or in school. My best memory of swimming is learning my flip turns. Half my turns I ended up upside down and the other half were good. My dad has all my patches somewhere. He is going to put them together for me in a special album. My favorite stroke is all of them. I don?t have one favorite. Swimming has changed my life because I am able to feel safe and enjoy myself when I go swimming with my cousins and friends. My most favorite thing about Charlotte Aquatics is the rope swing at the end of classes. I have gotten better according to my dad. And my favorite memory will be of taking the showers each time. Thank you Charlotte Aquatics and Ms. Gigi!?
Kennedy is a 5th grader and Springfield Elementary. When she is not swimming she love to play with her friends and do crafts. One of her best swimming memories was winning her first ribbon for her neighborhood swim team. She loves swimming the front crawl and butterfly. She has made so many friends at Charlotte Aquatics and loves it because ?everyone is SO nice and it makes me happy!? Kennedy?s best memory of Charlotte Aquatics is when Ms. Gigi said, ?You can move on to level 6!? Now she has all of her hard earned level patches hanging on her wall and has added her level 6 trophy!
?My name is Juliette Downing.? I am ten years old and am in 5th grade at Kensington Elementary School.? When I am not swimming, I like to build things with my dad in his woodshop.? I love to run with my Girls on the Run team at school.? My favorite memory at Charlotte Aquatics was my first day in level three.? By the end of the lesson I had passed to level 4B!? I like swimming because when I get in the water I feel like nothing can stop me.? My favorite stroke is the butterfly because it is challenging, and it makes me work harder.? My favorite thing about Charlotte Aquatics is my coach Miss Gigi because she doesn?t let me give up even when I?m tired.??
My name is Aakriti and I am a fourth grader. When I am not swimming, I like to read books, spend time with my friends, ride my bike, and enjoy nature. It took a long time to understand that it is not the levels I pass that?s important but rather the learning experience that?s important. I like to learn the different strokes. As I moved through the different levels it was hard but challenging. A big thanks to Ms. Gigi and Mr. Mike for helping me succeed! Charlotte Aquatics and the teachers helped me learn a big lesson – that everything comes through practice. My brother is going there now. I enjoyed it.
Molly is in first grade and loves to read when she is not swimming. Her best swimming memory is playing games and having fun in the water and she loves the breast stroke. Molly thinks Charlotte Aquatics is fun and it?s great to be able to swim all year long ? even when it?s cold outside! ?Her favorite memory is getting promoted to the next level (because she always worked so hard)and she keeps all of her prized level patches in a keepsake box. She believes that swimming is so much more fun when you know how to do it well. Way to go Molly!
Hi my name is Joshua Vincent, I am eight years old and I go to Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy. I started swimming when I was six years old. To me butterfly stroke was the most challenging and the instructors at Charlotte Aquatics helped me understand it really well. Besides swimming I also like to play football, ride my bicycle and play with my brother. Swimming helped my self-confidence knowing that I can do whatever I put my mind into. I am really looking forward to taking competitive tune-up lessons with my brother. Thank You Charlotte Aquatics !?
?Hello, my name is Kendra.? I am 8 years old and in third grade at The Fletcher School.?? I started swimming at Charlotte Aquatics when I was 9 months old.? Mr. Mike was my first swim instructor.?? Outside of swimming, I like Karate, Gymnastics, and Girls on the Run.
Hi my name is Sienna Joseph and I am a sixth grader at the Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy. I play soccer, basketball, do homework and watch Glee when I am not swimming. My best swimming memory is when I my first?swung on the rope and did a belly flop and realizing you can swim with your eyes open! Now my favorite stroke is the front crawl. Swimming has changed my life dramatically as I can help people in real life situations and ?I have also started to compete in triathlons.? Shea is in second grade at St. Matthews Elementary School. When he’s not swimming, he spends his time playing basketball, baseball, and Legos. His favorite stroke is the breast stroke and his favorite memory of Charlotte Aquatics is passing level 5. ?He has learned many lessons from the instructors but the biggest lesson is persistence. He is passing level 6 after the fourth try. ?We are grateful to all of the instructors that he has had over the different levels, but especially to Ms. Gigi!
Hi, I am Sandhya. I am nine years old and started swimming with Charlotte Aquatics when I was 3 years old. I progressed really well in all the levels. It took a long time to pass level VI because of the butterfly stroke. ?That was my biggest challenge and Ms. Mary helped me get through this stroke. My favorite stroke is breast stroke. I am confident and ?fearless when I am in water and I must give the credit to Charlotte Aquatics. What I like most about Charlotte Aquatics is that all the teachers are very nice especially Mr. Mike and Ms. Gigi. I am extremely happy to pass Level VI!
