Ian

Ian

Ian is a first grader at Polo Ridge Elementary. Ian has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, plays fall and spring baseball, rides his bike, and plays mine craft when mom allows it. Ian remembers riding across the pool on Mr. Mikes back. He was laughing all the way. His favorite stroke is front crawl. Ian used to be afraid of the water, and now he has confidence and is comfortable in the pool. Having a parent in a wheelchair who could not help him if there was a water emergency had been difficult. These lessons have helped our whole family learn about water safety, and we have watched Ian grow into a safe independent swimmer. Currently, Ian’s patches are on the refrigerator but now that he has his level VI patch, they will all be framed with his final picture.

Parent comment: What we like most about Charlotte Aquatics is that each child learns at their own pace. It is between the child and the instructor. As a parent you have to learn to let go and let the wonderful staff do their job. ?We are so grateful to Mike and Gigi for their kindness and patience. There is probably a memory from each level because each level was a huge stepping stone. From the first time he floated on his back to swinging off the rope ladder correctly, and then doing the flip turn. We are so grateful for your wonderful staff and what they have done for Ian. We look forward to competitive tune up.

Jaden

Jaden

My name is Jaden and I am 11 years old. I came to Charlotte Aquatics because I didn’t like to swim at the beach because I was too scared of the water. I started with Mr. Mike in 2012 in level IIA and finished level VI with Ms. Gigi. When I am not swimming I am playing soccer for Charlotte Soccer Academy. I like the warm water most of all and my favorite stroke is the elementary backstroke. My favorite memory at Charlotte Aquatics is the awesome teachers and when I completed level VI. I gave all my patches to my Mom because I will probably lose them. Now, because of Charlotte Aquatics, I can attend the end of year school pool party and snorkel at the reefs in the Caribbean. A big thanks to Mr. Mike and Ms. Gigi.

Prisha

Prisha

My name is Prisha and I am 8 years old. I am 3rd grader and go to Sugar Creek Elementary school in Fort Mill, SC. I have been going to swimming class at Charlotte Aquatics since last three years. I have enjoyed all my time at Charlotte Aquatics. I did not miss any session in last three years. I have enjoyed learning swimming with Mrs. Gigi, Mr. Mike, Mrs. Sharron, Mrs. Debra and all other teachers. My favorite time from swimming at Charlotte Aquatics is rope jumping. I was terrible at it when I began; I used to shiver when I had to jump in water, but now I am very confident and enjoy jumping from rope into pool. When I am not swimming, I am either doing Kumon or learning martial arts at USK Martial Arts, I enjoy both of these activities as much as swimming. I have stored all my patches to safe place and planning to display them somewhere in house when I am done with all!! I l like all the swimming strokes, but my favorite one is back stroke. Now that I am confident in jumping into water, I am not scared anymore in going to deep water for swimming. I have always enjoyed beaches, so I am going to enjoy swimming in ocean. I am not afraid of ocean waters anymore. Charlotte Aquatics has great teachers, they really teach you good swimming. If you continue taking all the sessions, you will be good swimmer one day.
