Hi! My name is Asiri, I am 8 years old, and I am in third grade at Collinswood Language Academy. When I am not swimming, I enjoy singing, dancing, and playing with my mermaid dolls. My favorite colors are turquoise and lavender, my favorite animals are dolphins and whale sharks, and my favorite foods are lasagna and pizza. My favorite swimming memory is taking classes with my dad, and my favorite stroke is the butterfly because I swim it faster than my mom! My favorite thing about Charlotte Aquatics is swinging from the rope during class and looking at the photos of other students with their trophies or certificates. I love my mom because she takes me to swimming lessons!
Avi is a seven years old enthusiastic learner and has been swimming with Charlotte Aquatics for last two and a half years starting from Level P-I. He has a deep love for water sports and swimming. He knows very well how important it is to be a good swimmer when you want to have fun in the water. He was always excited to work hard on his swimming skills and keep moving up the levels to achieve his success certificates, photos and the final trophy. He remembers how hard he worked on his butterfly stroke and to pass the level five. He loves all the strokes but his favorites are flip turns and jumping in the water in different styles. Swimming played an important role in improving his overall personality. The best part of the Charlotte Aquatics is the instructors who put instructions in a very kid friendly manner. Apart from swimming, he is learning Karate, he is a brown belt right now, he enjoys playing soccer and chess, and he loves building Legos and solving puzzles. He has great passion for electronic games. He plays piano and reads superhero stories as well.
Parent’s note: We are very proud of Avi and Charlotte Aquatics for making this journey a great success. The teachers and entire staff are very encouraging and supportive. It’s very surprising how thirty minutes a week can build so much confidence. We are thankful for putting together such a wonderful program and we look forward for further opportunities to join the clubs.
Avni is a kindergartner and has been at Charlotte Aquatics since she was 2.5 years old. She loves to be in water- be it the bath tub, swimming pool, or even the rain. She thoroughly enjoys her time at Charlotte Aquatics and loves all the teachers she has learnt from – Ms. Kathryn, Ms. Jessica, Ms. Mary, Ms. Kristin, Mr. Mike. A special thanks to Ms. Kathryn and Ms. Jessica for their efforts with Avni. When she doesn’t swim, she paints and reads. Her favorite stroke is the breaststroke. She used to get very disappointed when she couldn’t clear her level and had that extra motivation in her next sessions.
Parent’s Note: We enrolled Avni for swimming after we noticed her enjoyment in water and also for fitness and safety. And we were overjoyed to see her motivation for swimming, which comes from the sheer joy and refreshment she gets after swimming. She has other classes such as karate and dance as well, but the enthusiasm she has for swimming equals no other activity. We thank Charlotte Aquatics for nurturing her enthusiasm and interest in swimming, and look forward to getting Avni into competitive swimming.
My name is Daniel and I am a first grader. I have been swimming at Charlotte Aquatics for the last three years. When I started, I took several classes with Ms. Mary who helped me build a strong swimming foundation. From the very beginning, I was fascinated by the pictures of kids who won trophies – and was dreaming of getting one off my own. I was very happy when Mr. Gigi told me that I have completed level 6 and was very moved when everyone in the pool paused and clapped for me when she gave me the trophy.
My name is Deepak and I am 10 years old. I am a 4th Grader in Charlotte. When I’m not swimming, I enjoy playing video games, reading and math. My best swimming memory is when I passed Level 5. I keep all my Level patches in my room so that every one can see them. My favorite strokes are the breast stroke & front crawl. Swimming has changed my life because I used to love watching swimming and I have always wanted to do that and now I can! My favorite thing about Charlotte Aquatics is how fun they make swimming and diving. My favorite memory of Charlotte Aquatics is when I passed Level 6 and got my trophy.
Parent’s Note: Thank you for teaching Deepak to swim like a fish. He loved coming every week. We are grateful Charlotte Aquatics has played such a huge role in helping him to Complete Level 6. Thank you to all at Charlotte Aquatics!
My name is Elizabeth and I am 6 years old in the first grade. When I am not swimming I like to play with my sister and brothers, read, practice gymnastics and sing in my church children’s choir. Oh, and I like to play on my kindle fire. My favorite swim memory is swimming at my grandparents house and practicing different jumps into the pool. My favorite stroke is the butterfly because I like moving my arms up into the air. I also like the kick of the butterfly stroke. Swimming has changed my life because I don’t need help to swim and I worked hard to get my trophy. My parents said this taught me that I have to practice and was a lesson in perseverance. I really love to swim! I have LOVED all my teachers at Charlotte Aquatics and Mr. Mike is really funny. For example, he would say we need to swim two lengths of the pool but hold up three fingers. Elizabeth and her parents are grateful to the staff at Charlotte Aquatics, thank you!!!!
My name is Emerie and I am six years old. I am in Kindergarten. I am so excited to be graduating from Charlotte Aquatics. I have worked really hard for my trophy. When I am not swimming, I like to play with my friends, practice dancing and acro, and read. My best swimming memory is playing with my friends in my new swimming pool. My mommy keeps all of my swimming patches in a memory box so I can look at them whenever I want. My favorite swim stroke is freestyle, because it makes me go really fast. I love Charlotte Aquatics because they teach me so many new things. My favorite thing about Charlotte Aquatics is meeting all of the new teachers and swinging on the rope at the end of class.
Parent’s Note: Charlotte Aquatics has made learning to swim fun for all three of my girls. When Emerie started lessons, she wouldn’t even put her face in the water. The progress she made in a short period of time is remarkable. I think Charlotte Aquatics has done a great job teaching my girls this very important life skill.
My name is Everett. I am 8 years old and in the third grade. When I am not swimming, I like to watch TV, play video games, play football and read. My favorite stroke is the butterfly. Swimming makes going to the beach more fun!

When I am not in the pool, I like to play football, soccer and basketball. I like to cheer on my favorite teams the Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Knights, Everton and Norte Dame. Charlotte Aquatics has helped me to be a confident and competitive swimmer during summer swim team. I am thankful for all the teachers that have taught me and helped me get this trophy!
Parent’s Note: We have now had two kids go through this program and a very pleased with how well they have taught them to swim. The boys are confident and safe swimmers. We are very thankful that they have this life long skill. Thank you to all who have had a Lilly boy in their session over the last 5 years– only one more to go!
Mikey is 5 years old and is a kindergartner at Springfield Elementary in Fort Mill. When he’s not swimming, he loves watching or playing football and making his family and friends laugh. Mikey’s best swimming memory is swimming with Mr. Mike and Ms. Gigi (he loved playing with Ms. Gigi and making her laugh!). Mikey has all of his patches, certificates and pictures in a special swimming scrapbook that he and his mom made together. Mikey loves swimming and spends most of the year in water. He is so comfortable now that he has been able to master his swimming skills with the help of all of the loving instructors at Charlotte Aquatics and mom and dad feel great knowing he is comfortable in the water. The icing on the cake is the trophy he was worked so hard for…. ‘keep your eye on the prize!’. Charlotte Aquatics and the instructors and staff have become like family to us in the past few years and we’re better people having them all in our lives. If you know the Burke’s, you know we’ll be raving about and recommending Charlotte Aquatics for your family too!!

My favorite strokes in swimming are front crawl and breaststroke. At Charlotte Aquatics I love all the teachers and staff especially Mr. Mike who makes swimming a fun experience. My favorite moment was when I found out that I am graduating level 6.
Parent’s Note: Both of our boys are very happy since they have started swimming at Charlotte Aquatics. They always wait for their lessons and do not want to leave this facility at all. They both have already signed up for the next lesson. We are thankful to all of the teachers, staff, and management at Charlotte Aquatics for giving support to our kids and great service.
