Community Service

There are more than 76,000 students living in poverty in Charlotte, and many of these students will show up on the first day of school empty handed.  Children living in poverty have many obstacles to overcome; not having school supplies shouldn’t be one of them. That’s why we have partnered with Classroom Central. Classroom Central provides free school supplies so that children in need have access to the materials they need to be successful. In 2010, Charlotte Aquatics, in conjunction with their awesome students and families, donated over 1,200 school supplies to Classroom Central. We are looking forward to making this an annual Fall event. www.classroomcentral.org

Drowning Prevention through Education

Charlotte Aquatics is dedicated to promoting swimming and water safety within the community through education. We want to keep your children safe. As members of the Safe Kids Coalition, The Swim for Life Foundation, the National Drowning Prevention Alliance, and authorized providers for the American Red Cross, we are passionate about water safety. If you would like a member of our team to speak to your organization or provide “Water Safety Story Time & Tips” to your youth organization, we will gladly be there. Drowning is preventable and we want to do our part to eliminate a tragic lose.

Birthday Parties

Kids love a pool party! Charlotte Aquatics is open on Sundays for birthday parties. Enjoy the use of the entire facility for your private party. We provide the pool and the lifeguards, you provide the kids. Feel free to bring in your own food and drinks. The only thing we ask is no alcohol or glass containers please.

Safety Day 2009

Charlotte Aquatics hosted the first annual Summer Safety Day on Sunday, April 19th, teaming up with the Charlotte Police and Fire Departments, Matthew’s Police Department, Palmetto Childproofing, BB&T, Bird Pediatric Dentistry, Carolinas Poison Control Center, South Charlotte Animal Hospital, and Liberty Mutual. At this free event, children enjoyed face painting, story time, free balloons, a coloring station, and fishing for magnetic guppies. In addition, kids got to spin the safety wheel and win prizes for answering questions on such topics as poison prevention, gun safety, water safety, playground safety, and motor vehicle safety. The kids had a fun time while they and their parents learned valuable safety information. Car seat checks were provided and free child ID kits were handed out.
