Stephanie is Charlotte Aquatic’s Program Director. She has a BA in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has been working with children since 1997 in school settings, camp settings, church programs, and aquatic programs. In 2001, Stephanie began working day to day with the students and families of Charlotte Aquatics. Here Stephanie has helped to make children Safer, Healthier, and Smarter. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has been actively swimming since the age of three and loves all water activities. Becoming a lifeguard made her aware, through many rescues, of the importance of water safety, especially for children. She has seen firsthand what inexperience in the water can cost. “Drowning is a senseless tragedy that can be avoided.” After becoming a parent herself, her passion for educating other parents in the area of water safety grew immensely. “The power to teach a child to swim is the power to save a life!” Stephanie enjoys staying active with her family during her time away from Charlotte Aquatics. She especially likes running, dancing and being outdoors with her children and husband. Recently she’s begun taking part in Spartan Races. Together her family enjoys soccer, swimming and playing games. Her two daughters are both very active children in school and physical activities. As a family they support one another. Stephanie has also been serving with the Children’s Ministry at Christ Covenant Church since 2002 and is an approved Union County Public School Volunteer. She’s active with both of her daughter’s parent teacher organizations and her family sponsors a child through Compassion International. One day they hope to travel to Ecuador as a family and meet their sponsor child, Kristy.
