Teaching Assistants

Jenna Beswick
As a child, Jenna learned how to swim at Charlotte Aquatics. She completed every Red Cross level. When you asked Jenna what she wanted to be when she grew up she would say, “I want to work at Charlotte Aquatics.” Now she does and she loves it! Jenna has been a teaching assistant with us for 2 years and is now Red Cross WSI certified. Jenna has also been a Girl Scout for 12 years and is working on the highest award you can receive in Girl Scouts – The Gold Award. Now when you ask Jenna what she will do when she is an adult she will tell you a Pediatric Physicians Assistant. She believes her work here at Charlotte Aquatics is helping to prepare her for that role.

Rachel Newbury
Rachel is a high school student in Ft. Mill. She has been on a swim team for nine years and breast stroke is her specialty. Rachel just received her Water Safety Instructor certification through the American Red Cross. When she is not swimming, Rachel loves to play the violin.

Phoebe Walker
Phoebe has lived in Charlotte for the past ten years, and loves it! A recent graduate of Providence Day School, Phoebe has been with Charlotte Aquatics for over four years. Her favorite thing about working at Charlotte Aquatics is being around the awesome staff and interacting with Charlotte Aquatic’s amazing students and families. Currently Phoebe is a freshman at Queens University, where she hopes to double major in corporate communications and political science. Phoebe is also the head of her sororities’ philanthropy cabinet, and they work hard to support the Make a Wish foundation, as well as several other local charities. In her spare time Phoebe enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and of course passionately rooting for the Carolina Panthers!
