When Mia Zook is not swimming, she’s a busy student playing outside with friends or on the iPad, playing soccer, or running with her Girls on the Run team. Thanks to swim lessons, she likes the water more, is safer when enjoying time at the pool or the lake, and it’s “another thing she can now do!” Her favorite stroke is butterfly, and her best swimming memory is her first swim meet, since it was such a “cool experience with friends.” Her best swimming memory at Charlotte Aquatics is graduating, and she really likes the teachers and the “cool equipment.”
Tyler Tennant is 8 years old and is currently a 3rd grader. He has loved the water since he was a little boy and swimming has always come natural to him. When Tyler is not swimming he enjoys playing video games, playing outdoors with his friends, and hanging out with his family. One of his favorite places to be is at the beach.
Tyler’s favorite memory of swimming with Ms Katie is diving for rings and learning all the different strokes. She makes everything fun and they laugh a lot during every lesson. If he has to choose a favorite stroke he would choose front crawl, although he really enjoys the Breast stroke as well. Throughout the years Tyler has received many patches and his mom and dad have them in a safe spot for him.
Swimming has allowed Tyler to build muscles he did not know he had before. He has become a stronger person inside and out. Swimming gives him confidence in knowing he can do anything he puts his mind to. He has really come a long way in swimming and has enjoyed the journey this far.
Tyler adores swimming at Charlotte Aquatics…he has enjoyed every instructor he has ever had, especially Ms Katie and is so appreciative of how much they ALL have supported him and have helped him over the years. He thinks the smaller environment is less intimidating and makes things more comfortable for someone who is very shy. We cannot thank Charlotte Aquatics enough for all the wonderful things they have done for Tyler and helping him turn into the swimmer he has become.
