Introducing our March Level 7 Grads

Welcome, Charlotte Aquatics family and proud parents, to a special edition of our swim blog that is sure to make waves of excitement! Today, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the rising stars of our aquatic community – the newest Level 7 Graduates! Our graduates are ready to share their tales – inspiring bios that showcase the transformation that happens when passion meets persistence in the shimmering embrace of the water.

Penny’s Bio:

Penny is 7 years old and in 1st grade. Swimming has changed Penny’s life because it made her more confident in the pool and allows her to play in the water more freely. It even allows her to swim in the ocean too! Penny’s favorite stroke used to be Backstroke, but lately, Butterfly has become a new favorite – she just can’t decide!

What Penny loves most about Charlotte Aquatics are the teachers. She says they have all been so kind and helpful. They helped her learn to swim, and now she feels like a professional swimmer! Her favorite memory is being with her teachers, especially Ms. Deborah. When Penny is not in the water, she enjoys painting, drawing, making crafts, and learning to play the piano. Fantastic job, Penny! We are so proud!

Jonathan’s Bio:

Jonathan is 8 years old and in 2nd grade. Before learning to swim at Charlotte Aquatics, he was scared to jump into the pool—but not anymore! Now, he loves to use the rope swing to jump into the water. He most enjoys swimming the Front Crawl. Thanks to Charlotte Aquatics, he even had the confidence to go snorkeling and see stingrays!

When Jonathan is not in the pool, Jonathan enjoys playing board games, card games, and Minecraft. Jonathon said “I have really enjoyed Charlotte Aquatics and learning how to swim with the teachers there.” Congratulations, Jonathan! We are so proud of you!

Her favorite memory at Charlotte Aquatics was having the splash fights with her coach Zarrina. Aria says that swimming brings her joy, and she has found a true passion for the sport.

When she is not swimming, she is playing the piano or just chilling at home maybe building Lego with her mom and brother. Aria’s parents said “Thank you, Charlotte Aquatics, for giving our daughter confidence in a sport and pride in her accomplishments.” Way to go, Aria!

Grayson’s Bio:

Grayson is 6 years old and in kindergarten at Hawk Ridge Elementary. He has been swimming at Charlotte Aquatics since March 10th, 2019 when he was just 4 months old! For the past 4.5 years, he has been with Ms. Deborah… EVERY WEEK. His favorite stroke is Freestyle. Grayson’s favorite things about Charlotte Aquatics are having Ms. Deborah as his teacher and seeing Ms. Stephanie for a lollipop!

Grayson LOVES swimming and making safe swim choices. When he is not in the water, he also loves playing soccer and hopes to join MLS when he gets bigger! His parents said “Thank you Charlotte Aquatics for being a part of our family for 9 years!” We couldn’t be prouder of you Grayson! Nicely done!

When Mackenzie is not swimming, she enjoys playing with her family, sister, cousins, and friends and also participates in school, YMCA activities, and soccer. What she loves most about Charlotte Aquatics is how kind everyone is and how safe she feels while learning. Amazing job, Mackenzie!

We are grateful for the amazing Charlotte Aquatics staff and all they have done to develop our children into excellent swimmers. We have been coming to Charlotte Aquatics weekly for almost 10 years and have watched our two children develop unbelievable swimming skills, one week at a time. It’s hard to believe that we have come to the end of this era as our youngest graduates from level 7!  Thank you Charlotte Aquatics Team for all your hard work and dedication!
