Our Team

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Devyn grew up being curious and competitive.

He has been a competitive swimmer for 18 years. From 2013-2017, he competed with Queen’s University of Charlotte and won 3 NCAA D2 Championships.

Prior to that, he won two high school championships. Devyn works hard to stay focused on his goals and always finds the time to give back to the community.

Deborah joined the Charlotte Aquatics team in 2009 as an instructor. She has a degree in business administration from Appalachian State University.

After graduating college, Deborah worked as a flight attendant for fourteen years before making the decision to be a stay at home mother to her two wonderful children. Deborah adores teaching and says working with children is a joy.

Kristen, has been at Charlotte Aquatics since 2013 and is a Deck Manager and Instructor. As a former teacher she cultivated many skills which allow her to teach all our little fish to reach their best potential! Kristen loves empowering her students at CA to achieve their goals, and cultivate a love for swimming. In her free time, she loves to read and spend time with her friends and family. She loves all things Disney, and is a Dog mom to an adorable dog named Violet!

Olivia has been working at Charlotte Aquatics since 2016. She also learned to swim at Charlotte Aquatics, alongside her brother. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. In addition, she enjoys reading and crafting.

Olivia is a proud graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently teaching 2nd grade at a local elementary school. Her favorite part about working at Charlotte Aquatics is building relationships with coworkers and families that go beyond a workplace.

Olivia has been with Charlotte Aquatics since 2019. She has 3 younger siblings that all swam at Charlotte Aquatics and also has an older brother. She was a competitive swimmer for many years and loves being able to share her passion with her students. She currently goes to school at UNC Charlotte and is a proud Delta Zeta!

Paige grew up in Charlotte but was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She loves working with kids and making connections with all of her students. She has babysat many people for a long time. Also, she has competitively swam for 5 years at MAC. She has a dog named Winnie and a younger brother. She loves hanging out with her friends and family.

Kira is from New York, where she got a BS in Biology. She learned how to fly a plane and scuba dive when she was a teenager. As a CMS teacher she loves working with children in the classroom and pool. 

She was captain, MVP, and highest point scorer on her high school team multiple years in a row. She held two club records. She competed in freestyle and butterfly at the collegiate level State Championships. You can find her on her days off hiking with her puppy Vanderbilt.

Grace grew up in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and has always had a passion for working with children, finding their kindness and playful spirits enlightening. She enjoys the sweet and sometimes silly things children say, which always bring a smile to her face. An interesting goal she has yet to accomplish is leaving the country, something she looks forward to experiencing one day. Grace had once been a part of a swim team for a little while. In addition to her love for working with kids, she stays active by playing soccer! She also has a dog named Sadie, who is the silliest dog around.

Zarrina is from Kyrgyzstan and moved to Charlotte in 2023. She swam competitively for 10 years and her favorite stroke was Freestyle. Her favorite thing about her job is getting to see her students make progress with their swimming. In her free time she likes to rest and watch funny videos. She hopes to get a dog very soon!

Lea is a Charlotte native who has swam competitively for over 10 years. Known for her backstroke and competition knowledge she offers a unique perspective. Outside of the water, she and her trivia team are local champions. You can find her at trivia night with her dog Elton or reading a book with her cat Bean in her lap! Lea loves to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time!

Andrew joined the Charlotte Aquatics team in 2024 as an instructor, to continue his work in children’s athletics. Andrew is from sunny San Diego, and grew up on a skateboard, he has been skating since he was 5 years old and previously ran a Skateboard After School and Summer Camp Academy in Brooklyn, NY for 7 years. He is passionate about teaching and expanding his students possibilities each and every day he is in the pool. In his free time, Andrew loves to read science fiction, disc golf, and try international foods! Andrew is also husband to a wonderful wife Leslie and dad to his pups Tori and Clover, and his kitty George.

Anabeth was born and raised in the Charlotte area. She started swimming here at Charlotte Aquatics at the age of 5 months and graduated Level 6 when she was 7 years old! She has been working with children since she has been old enough to work. She is a soccer referee and a soccer camp coach.

Anabeth plays Club and Varsity Soccer and she is a member of the National Beta Club, Student Council, Spanish National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and has been recognized as a National High School Academic Scholar. Anabeth is bilingual and was part of one of the first classes in Union County to participate in a Full Language Immersion Program. Upon graduating, Anabeth hopes to work in the sports industry.

Chloe was born in Miami, Florida, and was raised in Charlotte. She plays violin, helps younger kids with violin lessons, and coaches kids soccer in the fall. Chloe is passionate about seeing her kids grow and thrive at Charlotte Aquatics. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer with her friends and spending time with her family.

Natalie grew up in the greater Charlotte area. She swam year round for 5 years. She has been working with kids for many years as well as babysat for 6 years. In her free time, Natalie enjoys working with kids at church, playing with her 3 dogs and hanging out with her younger sister.

Audrey was born and raised in Charlotte. She swam on her neighborhood swim team for 13 years, winning MVP twice. She has always loved swimming and enjoys sharing that love with kids. When she is not swimming, she loves to play soccer or crochet.

Grace was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. A passionate swimmer from an early age, she spent 8 years competing with MSA ,where she honed her skills in the pool and learned valuable lessons in discipline and teamwork. Today, as an elementary school teacher, Grace channels her dedication and enthusiasm into helping young students discover their strengths and build confidence. She believes in creating an environment where curiosity thrives and children feel empowered to reach their full potential, whether that is in the classroom or in the pool.
Outside of the classroom, Grace is an avid traveler, having explored 8 different countries, with Italy and Greece being her favorites for their rich history, culture, and cuisine. Whether she’s swimming, teaching, or exploring new destinations. She is always seeking new ways to grow and connect with the world around her, and she loves sharing her experiences and passion for learning with her students.

Tiyanna is a dedicated individual with a love for creativity and working with children. Her love for teaching goes beyond the pool, she’s worked for children in preschools and as a behavior therapist in clinical settings. She continues to pursue higher education in the Early Childhood Education field. Tiyanna is originally from western NY but was raised here in Charlotte, NC. She enjoys crocheting and art crafts in her free time. She has a Yorkie named Bella and a younger brother named Carter. Her passion for helping children reach important milestones motivates her work and studies.
